Memorial Day

It was beautiful on Memorial Day! That morning we went outside and the girls played in a box. It is amazing how something simple like a box is so much fun. Rosemary & Lilly
After nap time and snack it was warm enough to play in the water. This was the first time the girl's had worn a bathing suit or been in a pool and they loved it.
Lilly playing with the bucket and Rosemary with a Dinosaur.

Rosemary spent most of her time getting in and out of the pool.

We got out the Sip & Slide for the boys but the girls had to check it out.

Luke had a ball on the Slip & Slide and in the pool with the girl's.

Jonah slipped out into the grass.

Grandpa Herman and Grandpa Jim watched all the excitement.

Here is our small garden. Hopefully we'll get plenty of Squash, Zucchini, Green Beans and Tomatoes.

Alphabet Parade

Friday at Luke's Preschool they had an Alphabet Parade. Each child was asked to pick a letter and create a t-shirt about that letter and to bring a snack that starts with that letter. Luke got the letter "F". We had fun painting his shirt with his foot prints, fingers, fish, frogs, flags, and flowers. We also made fudge.
They marched one letter at a time and lined up A to Z.
They sang some songs about letters and numbers. Then they did the chicken dance.
Before snack they prayed. I thought they all looked so cute and did such a great job!

Luke's Strawberries

Today we went to pick Strawberries with Luke's class from his Preschool. It was cool but beautiful day. Luke wanted to pick and eat his strawberries rather than pick them to bring home.

A BIG yummy red Strawberry...

The Best Mother's Day!!!

On Mother's Day we all took it easy. We stayed at home all day and played outside most of the day. Luke helped me plant some flowers near our small garden. Shane decided to put our dog lot around the garden since it was small so the deer and rabbits would not eat everything.

After he got tired of planting flowers he decided to plant Luke.

Rosemary decided to try the shovel and hoe at the same time.

Then she checked out the flowers.

Lilly came over and checked out the flowers also.

After we finished with the flowers Luke and Jonah thought it was a good time to ride bikes.

Dad helped Luke out as Rosemary watched.

I love spending the day at home with Shane & the kids. That's what made my Mother's Day so perfect!

Ethan's Birthday Party

My nephew Ethan turns 7 this week and Saturday he had his birthday party. It was a Star Wars theme and I don't think any of the kids (big or small) could have had a better time! We all watched as he opened his presents.

Everyone watched as Ethan took a swing.....

and then made a dash for the candy.

One of his presents from his Uncle was a Slip and Slide. The boys had to try it out. What fun they had!!!
Grandpa Jim, Luke, Grandpa Ian, and Adelyn looked on as Colin and Ethan zoomed down the slip and slide.

Jonah made a big splash.

All the boys crashed and loved it.

Rosemary and Lilly watched but would not get close.

The three princess' Rosemary, Lilly, and Adelyn.

The day came to an end and we all piled into Grandma's van to go home. Everyone was tired but very happy because of the good time we spent with family!!!

What a day

At 6:30 this morning Rosemary and myself head out the door to the Surgical Center for Dr. Rosen to put tubes in her ears. She has had a lot of ear infections since December. She was such a good girl- sitting in my lap, being quiet. They had her change into these scrub like looking clothes before they put the tubes in. She looked so cute!

After they finished they dressed her for me & brought her to me in a waiting area. It took a while for her to stop crying, I'm pretty sure it was the anesthesia messing her up. Jonah had the same reaction when he was three and had a pin removed from his broke elbow. I finally took her outside & we sat in the car and I sang to her until she fell asleep.

That afternoon we played outside and you would have never known what a morning we had. Lilly went on to daycare that morning and the girls seemed happy to see each other that afternoon.
