Happy 38th Birthday Shane!

Shane's birthday was January 5th. I didn't take many pictures but I think he had a good one. A bunch of co-workers took him to a Mexican Restaurant, Mom surprised us and had a yummy dinner made when we got home from work and his Dad and Catrina came over a few days later and brought this ice cream cake and Chinese food. The kids waited patiently for cake.

Everyone thought it was great.

The kids have been sick a lot this month. Luke had a virus and ear infection. Jonah's asthma acted up when he got the same virus. Then Rosemary, she's had strep throat, a virus, and a double ear infection. Lilly had the virus and a double ear infection. Tonight everyone is feeling good and decided to play on the pet dinosaur.

Fun times with Daddy!

Christmas 2009

We had a great Christmas! One of the best ones I can remember. On Christmas Eve I finally got around to taking a group picture of the kids in front of the tree.

Jonah and Rosemary

Luke and Lilly
After picture time the kids did a conga line to bed. Santa was on his way and everyone had to get to bed.

Before bed time for me I always take a picture. This is our main tree.
This is the tree I put all the kids ornaments on.
Christmas morning Jonah woke up at 5am and came to see if he could get up. Shane got up and said he could sit at the kitchen table until everyone got up and Jonah decided he'd go back to bed. Luke and Rosemary got up at 6am, so I did too. We went into the den and the lights were off, when I turned them on Luke was shocked, he paused and then shouted, Santa came. Jonah got back up and joined us and then Lilly woke up.
Santa brought a robot dinosaur and in the stockings Jonah got a DS game.
Grandma Jackie sent the girls each a new doll. They each had long hair.

Our Christmas tradition is to have both of the Grandparents over for breakfast that morning and then we open presents every year.

Luke and Jonah got matching robes and bike helmets.

The only thing Luke asked for was a Dinosaur egg and he got three.

Grandpa Jim helped the girls open their present.

The girls got a Kitchen.

Everyone seemed happy with their presents!

We all played with our gifts and got dressed. The girls took an early nap and off we went to Grandpa Herman's house. We ate lunch and visited. Their tradition is, instead of exchanging gifts we all bring a gift and play Bingo. When you win you get to choose a gift and unwrap it. It always is a lot of fun.

On Saturday we recouped and then on Sunday my brother and his family came for our Christmas. We started off with lunch. The boys sat at their table.

The rest of us at the main table. We had a lot of yummy food.

After lunch the girls took a nap and we all chit chatted and played while they slept.

Megan and Colin.

Colin and Jonah had got a bow and arrow for Christmas and all the boys went in the yard and practiced during nap time.

Michael and Ethan.

We all got a lot of great things.

The three girls seemed to have fun.
Rosemary, Lilly and Adelyn
We all had a great Christmas but I believe the time spent with family was the best gift we had. The memories of Christmas 2009 mean more than anything to me.

Best Dad!

My girls love stickers. One of their favorite things is for me to put them in their high chair give them a sheet of paper and a sheet of stickers and they can sit there for at least a half hour which is great because I usually can cook or clean the kitchen or something while they entertain themselves.
It was December 23rd and I was running around the house straightening up and trying to get everything ready for Christmas and Shane was looking after the kids when I came around the corner and what did I see but him sitting on the floor letting the girls put sticker on him.
That moment was priceless, what a great Dad! My kids and me are so lucky to have him as a Dad and a husband!
