Love my Job

I am really lucky, I love my job. I like the people I work with, I like what I do. I am a GIS Technician. I update and make water and sewer maps mostly. I do other things also like on this day. I got to climb one of our Water Tanks. We are on top of the tank in this picture.

It was harder than I thought it would be. We climbed around 175 feet straight up. The water tank was being worked on and painted so we got to go inside the empty part of the tank that holds water, 1.5 million gallons of water. It was great and the view from the top was awesome! As you see Shane climbed it also. I am very lucky we get to work together. A lot of people say they could never work with their spouse but I really think we get along better working together. We ride together and drop the girls off at daycare work 8 hours then pick them up and head home. My parents look after the boys when they get out of school, there again I'm lucky that they have family to watch them until we get home. I do have to say I live for the weekends! I hardly feel like I see the kids during the week. When we get home it is busy, cooking dinner, checking home work, making sure everyone has a bath and then we get to all spend a short period of time together before the kids head off to bed. Everyone (kids that is) is in bed by 8pm. So on the weekends I love the time we get to spend together! Most weekends we stay at home all weekend. All week we rush to school and work so it is nice to all stay home and have a peaceful easy going weekend and enjoy each other. That to me is the best time ever!

Fun with Grandpa Herman

Grandpa Herman came over to plow our garden with his tractor. After he finished Luke drove him around the yard.
Luke did really well steering the tractor. We all watched as they went around the yard. Lilly and Rosemary were to scared to get on the tractor even while it was turned off.
The next weekend we all went over to his yoga teacher's house to see their pet turtles. Giant turtles, like the ones you would see at the zoo.

Luke jumped right in to see the turtles close up. Jonah and Rosemary stood back and watched most of the time. Once Rosemary let Grandpa pick her up to touch one of their shells.

Lilly warmed up to them quicker.

She quickly touched one of them.

Luke got one their back and went for a ride. They are not very fast but you have to keep your balance or you might fall.

The two largest ones were males. One was over 50 years old and the other large one was over 40 years old. They weighed around 500 lbs. each.

They had several smaller turtles too. The turtles were amazing. You never know what is in someones back yard.

Easter

We had one of the best Easter's ever! We spent it with friends and family, what could be better?

Our first activity was Luke's class Easter party. We went to a classmates house. It was a beautiful spring day. The first activity was the egg hunt.

After the egg hunt we had a yummy lunch.

Then the kids played. Luke loved the slide, playing chase, and just running around the beautiful yard.

As we were walking to our car I stopped to take a few pictures. Luke seemed really happy for his friend Ruthie to put her arm around him. His friend David didn't look to happy about it, he thought Ruthie was his girlfriend?

Saturday before Easter we had some friends over to dye eggs, have an egg hunt, and grill
some hot dogs. Everyone seemed to like to dye eggs. Lilly & Rosemary didn't mind getting messy at all.

Next it was time for a snack.

Jonah hid the eggs for the "little kids". Then everyone spread out and found all of them.

Finally it was time to eat.

Luke played patty cake with Molly.

Melinda made yummy cupcakes and once again Lilly & Rosemary didn't mind getting messy.

That night before bed Jonah asked if we could put a carrot out for the Easter Bunny and he thought he would write him a note. I thought it was so sweet!!!

Easter Sunday the kids woke up to treats from the Easter Bunny. That afternoon Grandpa Jim, Grandma Teena, Grandpa Herman, Grandma Catrina, Uncle Mark ans Aunt Amy came over for dinner. We had another egg hunt and a good time visiting. I don't think Easter could have been any better!
